FRITZ DREISBACH | Beginners

Learn how to blow hot molten glass from the furnace with the correct techniques for your personal goals and skills. We will learn and practice all the basic traditional glass making techniques such as gathering, blocking, blowing, marvering, necking, paddling, punty work and off-hand work. We will work with simple color application and basic hot glass additions (bit work) like handles, wings and squiggles! Come with an open mind and be prepared to have fun!

Fritz Dreisbach


Fritz Dreisbach was honored by Glass Art Society's Lifetime Achievement Award in Amsterdam in 2002, for his "unique and significant contributions to the world of glass". He was a significant presence on the Seattle scene for 15 years - consulting, lecturing, teaching and making glass. He now works as an independent glass artist in Tucson, Arizona and also consults and teaches in numerous glass studios world-wide. For 42 years Fritz has lectured and demonstrated in over 150 institutions in North America, Europe and Asia, among them, Pilchuck Glass School, The Corning Museum of Glass and the Glass Furnace. He was elected a Fellow of the American Crafts Council and was awarded the 1993 Corning Glass Museum Rakow Commission. His glass is represented in numerous public and private collections, 'all the usual suspects!'
