JanHein van Stiphout![]() JanHein van Stiphout is the son of a traditional stained glass artist. He studied, among others, Sculpture at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten (Academy of Fine Arts) in Antwerp, Belgium and Forming Plastics at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving (Academy of Fine Arts & Design) in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. His concept based work takes the inherent properties of glass such as resilience, flexibility and fragility to the extreme. In 1988, JanHein van Stiphout was a founder member of a group called "De Maatschap internationaal" together with two other artists. The process of collaboration strengthens their ideas and enables them to create large scale kinetic work.
