Learn the exciting technique of drawing on glassy enamel surfaces using ceramic pencils and layers of delicately colored enamels! Also, discover the classic French enameling technique of “camaieu”. Images are drawn into copper, covered with the brilliant clear colors of transparent enamel and then models with thin layers of white. Silver foil and painted overglazes can also be added enrich the sparkle of your piece. Extensive drawing skills are NOT necessary to enjoy this fun, picture-based technique. The student are expected to bring photographs, magazine pictures or original rendered drawings to work from as many as possible. Work on flat sheet or shallow bowls.
