Painting on glass with enamel pigments is a traditional technique know to glass artist for centuries. In this session, I am aimed for the pleasure of drawing on glass and discovery of free expression in the glass. I do a demonstration of several kinds enamel technique and also demonstrate the creation of rich and dynamic imagery on the surface of blown glass and plate glass. Through training of the enamel technique including airbrushing, stippling, highlighting, I will help students to find out possibility of new expression in glass. The students please come prepared with drawings as much as possible.
No experience required but if you have painting background it is helpful.

Kazumi Ikemoto


Kazumi Ikemoto Graduated form Kyoto City University of Art. Currently lives and works in Tokyo, where maintains a studio and is professor at Tama University of the Arts and has taught Australia and the United States since 1987. He learned enamel technique from maestro Josepe Beppe in Milan. In addition to numerous architectural installations in public facilities, schools, corporate buildings and residence, house in Japan. His work is represented in museums worldwide, including Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art (Japan), Corning Museum (U.S.A), South Australian College, (Australia), Grand Crystal Museum (Taipei), Toyama City Institute of Glass Art (Japan).
